The enchanted forest
Puppet design and making and workshop facilitation
The Enchanted Forest took place at the Glen Pavilion at the end of June to a sold out audience. A huge achievement for everyone.
The story was devised with the participants of INSPIRE Fife and based on their lived experience of disability and their own hopes and dreams for their lives.
The production had the support of puppet maker and designer Sònia Gardés, and the apprenticeship of Karolina Karolcinka.

The creative process
The puppetry in the show was created through the use of workshop sessions designed by Sònia Gardés which explored each of the individual’s expression needs through the use of puppetry.
Sònia Gardés supervised the work of student Karolina Karolcinka for the design and making of the princess. Gardés then designed and made the hero, a character with Down Syndrome, the witch and the puppet costumes.
The creation process was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, after which Elspeth Chapman continued the work with the group.
